I keep a close eye on seasonal trends, from "the reveal" at fashion weeks to how they trickle down in local boutiques. For me it's all about decoding what trends pack the most style punch for my clients.
I'm interested in trends that integrate well in a capsule wardrobe, pieces that won't feel "played out" when the season ends, and looks that compliments the mature, career woman I love to dress.
While there’s lots of exciting trends to try this season, if you’re only going to try one this season, my inside tip is to GO BOLD WITH COLOR!
We’re seeing three key dominant color trends for spring:
1 | Full-body pastels: From lemon yellow to lavender (the instagram star of the season), pastels are hot. While pastels have long been a spring tradition, there’s an edgy vibe to how they’re styled today. This year, it's a bold attention-seeking pastel worn either in monochromatic head-to-toe styles or with color blocking.
The pastel is also being used to reinvent suiting
This season, the classic pant suit takes on a softer, feminine feel in ice cream color shades. This is definitely the season to add a pastel blazer to your work wardrobe!
2 | Bright, saturated hues: No bold is "too bold" this season. Star players include cherry red, magenta pink, big bird yellow and "traffic cone" orange.
We're not talking about a 'pop of color' here! This season is all about wearing bold hues from head to toe. Whether it’s monochromatic looks or color blocking in unconventional ways (red with pink is THE color combination of the season), it's the season of high-energy hues.
3 | Rainbow stripes: This season the classic stripe is reborn in technicolor! Expect to see all the colors of the rainbow in a single piece and even colorful stripe pieces paired with other bright stripes.
This is not the season to be shy with color! Take a risk with bolder color combinations and enjoy the energy rush!
