How to Capsule Wardrobe Your Underwear (& Make Better Decisions)

Q: What do Barack Obama, Mark Zuckerberg and my underwear drawer have in common?

A: All three are streamlined for success!

In today’s vlog, I’m talking about expanding the capsule wardrobe concept to other areas of your closet and considering two concepts you’ll seldom hear discussed together: decision fatigue and underwear.

What are your thoughts on organizing your underwear drawer to reduce decision fatigue? Would you make a point of streamlining small, daily decisions to preserve brainpower for more important tasks?

I’d love to hear from you! Let’s chat!

  1. Since my capsule wardrobe mainly consists of black dresses, all my bras and underwear are black as well. It reduces decision fatigue in the morning and when I shop to replace the items.

  2. One place my wardrobe is already streamlined is my undergarment drawer! I go the nude & black bra route with mix n match underpants. I have long believed in decision fatigue. For probably 10 years I have laid out my workweek ensembles on Sunday evenings so I don’t have to think about what to wear every morning. Only occasionally do I make minor adjustments, usually due to unexpected weather.

    1. Oh, I love this! Laying out your clothing for an entire week. Only when returning back to work from maternity leave was I ever quite that well planned – and it only lasted a few weeks, but I’d like to revisit the technique and see how it contributes to my morning momentum. It would be great if I had room in my closet for 5-7 hooks, which I could label “Monday”, “Tuesday” etc. in order to set up complete outfits for the work week ahead!
