I’m finally posting a work outfit that includes one of my new fall pieces!
This Etro top was purchased as one of the first two pieces I’ve bought (and kept) this season. As part of my slow fashion experiment, I committed to buying only five pieces until the new year. As you might imagine, this has made the selection process highly discriminatory, but I’ve now hunted down all my pieces and will update on my “micro capsule” soon.
I purchased this top online from the luxury consignment retailer The Real Real. I love that consignment opens the door to exploring designer brands that would otherwise be out of reach (hello Prada!) while simultaneously offering a sustainable approach to shopping.
While consignment shopping is fairly new to me, everything I’ve bought this way has been in excellent condition, which I attribute to going through a reputable and authenticating vendor. In fact, a substantial portion of The Real Real’s inventory has never been worn and comes with price tags still attached.
The colours of this Etro top hit just the right note for Autumn. I love the tiny hint of peplum fair and how it enhances hourglass curves. I paired the floral print with a brown plaid skirt for an extremely subtle mix of print. For tips on conservative ways to mix print at work, see my recent post.
