A surefire way to make an outfit interesting is to mix up print, fabric and texture. (What Not to Wear fans, remember Stacy and Clinton’s “color, pattern texture and shine” motto?)
As simple as the formula sounds, it goes against the deeply cultured instincts of many. Early conditioning runs deep; many adults are stuck in elementary style guidelines we learned as children, the first rule of which is “match” not “mix”, especially when it comes to work wear.
While very much a conservative office look, this outfit breaks out of basic suiting monotony by mixing a corse multi-tone tweed blazer with a silky floral shirt. A pop of color and touch of sequin in the shoe keep the spirit alive during a long 9-5!
