Want to enhance your style without buying new clothes? My weekly wardrobe challenge will help you make the most of your current collection to improve your style without spending a dime!
This weekend’s challenge is to donate a garment.
How does eliminating clothing make your wardrobe stronger, you ask? The answer is that a streamlined closet is the foundation of great style. Not only are you more likely to dress better when you own less clothes, new evidence suggests you probably think better when you minimize the amount of trivial decisions you need to make in a day; and nothing is more trivial than weeding through a horde of clothing that shouldn’t be in your wardrobe in the first place.
One of the goals of mastering a ‘working look’ is to get to the point where you ADORE every item in your closet because each one fits, flatter and makes you look great. As style guru Tim Gunn would say, every garment should be “soul stirring”.
Start this week by donating just one piece of clothing to a friend, local shelter or clothing donation box. Not only will your closet be more organized as a result, you could also help a woman in need develop her own working look.
